About the Artist ...

|
I am originally from Nottingham,
and having spent many years in London, I moved to Sussex in 2003. I initially trained to be a
dancer before becoming an artist. I went to art college where I
experimented with lots of different mediums although it wasn't until later
on that I discovered the art of silk painting. I prefer to say that I’m a textile artist, as I
incorporate so many different materials into my paintings. I love the
translucent texture of silk which illuminates and projects colour and lends
itself perfectly to the loose forms that I create in my floral and meadow
scenes.
Up until recently, I worked from my studio at home, but I now work at the Sussex Sculpture Studio in Partridge Green, West Sussex (www.sussexsculpture.co.uk). As well as selling my work online, I also sell my work through local galleries throughout the country, in addition to doing commissions. |
